GREAT BIG SEA

Saturday, November 27/1999 at Massey Hall, Toronto

GREAT CONCERT. Probably the most high-energy concert I've been to.

I went with my friends Lee, Graham, Mike, and Andrea. Everyone had fun.

The ticket's we had were second balcony at the very back; but Massey Hall isn't that big, so pretty much all the seats in the house were good.

We forgot about the opening act. So, naturally, we were a little pissed when Melanie what's-her-name got up on stage. They had some good solo's though. The lead guitarist was really good. I forget what song, but one time he did like a minute-and-a-half solo with his Les Paul. Good Good Good.

Melanie Whatever finished after about 45 minutes, (seemed like longer,) and we waited for GBS. It wasn't long before the boys took the stage and the sold-out crowd erupted in cheers.

Much to Grahams delight, they started off with Donkey Riding, right after going into When I'm up. They had a great mix of stuff from all their albums. There wasn't really anything they left out. It was great.

They finished the set with Ordinary Day, but Massey Hall wanted more. You could hardly hear with all the roaring and clapping and stomping. Needless to say, they came back out and did a few more songs.

After going offstage for the second time, Massey Hall again erupted in Craziness, and on came the boys for a second encore, We expected 1 encore but 2!!!!

Not done yet, they went off for the 3rd time, we still wouldn't shut up. What was going through my mind was, "god, they must just want us to shut up so they can get to a bar." But they seemed happy as every, played a few more, then went off for good.
It was a great concert, I can't wait until they come by again.
